What the app collects today

Nothing. There is no way to make an account yet, so the app holds nothing about you at all. The rest of this page says what it will hold as the app is built, and this page is updated as that happens.

What an account will hold

An email address, a password and your first name. Never a phone number, and never your contacts. There will also be the month and year of your birthday, so the app knows you are 13 or older, which is the youngest you can be to use Mootzer. Mootzer never asks for permission to read your address book, on any phone.

Who else sees it

Only the people in your Moot. Nothing you share is sold, rented or passed to anyone else, and the only thing that would override that is a valid legal demand. There are no ads and no third-party tracking, so there is no advertising network, no analytics service and no tracking company receiving anything about you — none in the app, and none on this site.

What our servers record

Our servers keep working records of what happened: that a request was made, and whether it worked. Those records never hold what you shared, your name or your email address.

When it goes

Everyone takes what they want onto their own phone, and we delete our copy from our servers when the Moot ends. A group that never ends, like your family, simply keeps going. There is one exception: if somebody reports something, that single item is kept aside while it is looked at, so the report can be dealt with.
